Occupy St Louis General Assembly Notes for February 15, 2012
Announcements: Putin was arrested for terrorism and graft.
Proposals:
- Occupy St Louis should accept and support an offer by Culver way to finance, design and construct through committee, then loan, the OMW encampment as renewable supplied energy (energy supplied to encampment). Culver Way would provide teachins at the omw based on this construction of earth friendly encampment and how their eco village runs and helps to save the environment. After the OMW, this energy supply would return to Culver Way Eco village. OSTL would not be responsible for building, maintaining, or financing this energy supplier but will be asked to join committee to get this started. FRIENDLY AMENDMENT: that the proposal be for Occupy St Louis to endorse and propose for subsequent approval by OMW committee. No Blocks: Solidarity
- Change the wording of the new statement of non-violence. The addition (after “to…property”) of “with property damage defined as ‘to render property useless’.”
Vote 1: 2 blocks Vote 2: 3 blocks Vote 3: 7 blocks proposal blocked - Any proposal which requires 2 GA’s to pass shall also require 2 GA’s to be revoked. Proposal #3 withdrawn by proposer due to moratorium on process changes. Will be re-proposed on Saturday.
- Change Sunday’s Feb 19 GA from Union Station at 1 pm to Bread Co downtown at noon, in interest of unity. FRIENDLY AMENDMENT: Time as 1 pm so that there is time to attend both the IO meeting as well as OSTL General Assembly. No Blocks: Solidarity.
